HATOCH® STIFTFIX reliably removes ballpoint pen stains and pen marks from furniture, desks, kitchen fronts, doors, and most plastic surfaces – completely without hazard symbols and aggressive chemical odors. Even Edding marks are removed in many cases. And ballpoint pen and Edding marks can even be removed from hands and skin – the formula is dermatologically tested.

The 3 most important advantages

  • Reliably effective against ballpoint pen and pen stains – even for older, dried-on marks.
  • Gentle on materials like furniture, kitchen fronts, doors & plastic – suitable for melamine-coated furniture and kitchen fronts (e.g., IKEA, Nobilia), painted doors (except acrylic paint), and most everyday plastics.
  • Without hazard symbols – no signal word required, dermatologically tested formula.

Suitable for removing

  • Ballpoint pen & pen stains
  • Ballpoint pen & Edding from skin / hands
  • Edding: removed in many cases – the fresher and thinner the line, the better the result
  • Other permanent marker brands: not yet tested – try on an inconspicuous area

Suitable surfaces

  • Skin & hands (ballpoint pen and Edding marks)
  • Desks, office and children's room furniture with melamine decor
  • Dressing tables and chests of drawers (melamine-coated or foiled – test on an inconspicuous area for painted real wood)
  • Melamine-coated furniture, e.g., IKEA furniture
  • Melamine-coated kitchen fronts and carcases (e.g., IKEA, Nobilia)
  • Painted and foiled doors (except acrylic paint)
  • Most everyday plastics in the household

For contract cleaners & office service

STIFTFIX was developed as a desk cleaner for maintenance cleaning – based on our own experience as a contract cleaning company: Ballpoint pen, pen, and Edding marks on desks, school tables, reception desks, and office furniture can be spot-removed without scratching the surface. Unlabeled – no hazardous substance training, no special storage. For cleaning companies: B2B conditions and carton prices.

Not suitable for

  • Plexiglas / acrylic glass, as well as acrylic paints and acrylic coatings – will be dissolved
  • High-gloss kitchen fronts with an acrylic surface – always test on an inconspicuous area first
  • Wallpaper, especially painted non-woven wallpaper – risk of discoloration or swelling
  • Car interior (dashboard, door panels, synthetic leather seats) – not tested; soft-touch and grained surfaces may become stained or fade

Application

  • Apply neat (undiluted)
  • Allow to act for 1–5 minutes (depending on layer thickness)
  • Wipe off with a soft cloth
  • On skin: allow to act briefly, wipe off, then wash hands
  • For textiles and leather, as well as new surfaces: always test on an inconspicuous area first

Frequently Asked Questions

Does STIFTFIX remove ballpoint pen and Edding from skin or hands?
Yes – the dermatologically tested formula also removes ballpoint pen and Edding marks from hands and skin. Allow to act briefly, wipe off, then wash hands. Do not use on injured or irritated skin.

Does STIFTFIX also remove Edding?
In many cases, yes – especially fresh or thin Edding lines. For old, thick layers, apply thinly multiple times and repeat; some residue may remain.

Does STIFTFIX work on all permanent markers?
We have tested Edding. Other permanent marker brands sometimes use different inks – please test on an inconspicuous area first.

Is STIFTFIX suitable as a desk cleaner for cleaning companies?
Yes – that's exactly what it's for, based on our own contract cleaning practice: spot-removing pen and ballpoint pen marks on office and school desks, without labeling and without special storage. B2B conditions available on request.

Can I use STIFTFIX on a dressing table?
Yes – no problem on melamine-coated or foiled surfaces. Eyeliner and kohl pencil marks can often also be removed. For painted real wood, test on an inconspicuous area first.

Can I use STIFTFIX in the car (dashboard, seats)?
We currently advise against it. Car interior plastics often have soft-touch coatings, grained textures, or plasticizers – STIFTFIX has not been tested for these, and there is a risk of stains or fading. As soon as we have test results, we will add them here.

Can I use STIFTFIX on kitchen fronts?
Yes – melamine-coated kitchen fronts and carcases (standard for most fitted kitchens) tolerate STIFTFIX well. Be careful only with high-gloss fronts with an acrylic surface: test on an inconspicuous area first.

Is STIFTFIX suitable for wallpaper?
No. Especially painted non-woven wallpaper can be dissolved or run by the formula – STIFTFIX is not suitable for this.

Can I use STIFTFIX on IKEA furniture?
Yes, melamine-coated furniture surfaces are well-suited for STIFTFIX. Nevertheless, test on an inconspicuous area first.

Does STIFTFIX attack Plexiglas or paint?
Plexiglas (acrylic glass) as well as acrylic paints and acrylic coatings are dissolved, as the formula specifically dissolves acrylates. Other non-acrylic paints are generally unproblematic – nevertheless, test on an inconspicuous area first.

  • Removes ballpoint pen, pen & permanent marker – even dried-in and even from hands and skin (dermatologically tested).
  • Gentle on furniture, kitchen fronts & plastic – for melamine-coated furniture (e.g., IKEA, Nobilia) and lacquered doors (except acrylic lacquer).
  • No hazard symbols – no signal word required, dermatologically tested formula.
  • From the practice of building cleaning – developed as a desk cleaner for routine cleaning. Label-free, no special storage.
  • Made in Germany – not for Plexiglas, acrylic paint, or wallpaper. Test in an inconspicuous area beforehand.
